As the year draws to a close, I’ve taken time to reflect not just on wins, but on the process. 2025 has been a year of building, rebuilding, and choosing myself. Choosing growth over comfort. Choosing integrity over convenience. Choosing real estate again and again even when it wasn’t easy.
The Reality Behind the Highlights.
Real estate is often glamorized. What we don’t talk about enough is the work behind it:
Long days and even longer follow-ups with no feedback.
Site visits that don’t convert immediately.
Marketing properties that need patience before traction.
Managing clients, owners, guests, expectations, and emotions. sometimes all at once.
At Annie Luxury Homes, there were moments of momentum, inquiries flowing, site visits booked, Airbnbs secured, listings expanding from Nairobi to Mombasa, Vipingo, Kuruwitu, Kilifi, and Malindi. And there were moments of pause and recalibration. Not to mention being broke.
Walking Away Is Also Growth.
One of the biggest lessons this year was learning that walking away can be a form of progress.Leaving spaces that tolerated bullying or misalignment wasn’t easy especially a well known company like Superior Homes Kenya but it was necessary. It reminded me that:
No brand is worth your peace of mind.
No partnership is worth shrinking yourself.
And no opportunity should cost your self-respect.
That decision became a turning point, one that allowed me to rebuild with clarity and confidence.
Rebuilding With Intention.
Rebuilding didn’t mean starting from zero. It meant:
Refining systems by going back to the drawing board.
Strengthening client communication.
Creating structure around Airbnb hosting & property management something we didnt major in before.
Becoming more transparent about pricing, incentives, and value of our services.
It also meant educating clients and myself that real estate is not just about selling property. It’s about trust, due diligence, and long-term thinking.
What 2025 Taught Me (And What I’d Tell Anyone Starting Out)
Momentum comes from consistency, not luck Always show up.
Professionalism protects you Clear agreements, invoices, and expectations matter.
Not every deal is your deal Saying no saves time, money, and reputation.
Invest in yourself before asking others to invest in property Skills, confidence, and boundaries are assets too.
Growth is not always loud Sometimes it’s quiet, steady, and deeply personal.
Ending the Year With Gratitude and Vision
To every client who trusted us. To every property owner who gave us an opportunity. To every lesson that stretched me. Thank you.
I would like to give a special thanks to my Twin sister and our Co-Founder Anita Waheire the moral support is beyond words. May your kindness and hardwork grow to greatness. Keep winning.
As we step into a new year, my focus remains clear:
Building sustainable real estate solutions.
Expanding thoughtfully along the Coast.
Supporting clients with honesty, not hype.
And continuing to bet on myself wisely, boldly, and unapologetically.
If 2025 taught me anything, it’s this: You don’t need permission to rebuild. You just need courage.
